Taking Applications for Two Marine Rental Members for New Committee

Okaloosa County is seeking two members for a Waterway Rental Safety Committee.  The members must be business owners or managers of businesses directly involved in the rental of motorized marine vessels (Personal Watercraft i.e. jet skis, Pontoon Boats, and/or other vessels) to customers with a physical presence on the water in Okaloosa County.  We ask that you apply as soon as possible. Preference will be given to those owning the rental vessels and the goal will be to have one vendor within the City of Destin and one elsewhere in the County.

The Committee itself is planned to be a diverse mix of vendors, residents, enforcement agencies and others having a connection to the marine rental industry.  The purpose of the Committee will be to recommend a balanced framework of rules/initiatives that will seek to make the marine livery business safer throughout the County.  The Committee will look at existing standards currently in place within the County and elsewhere throughout the State and Country.
